General Personality:From the above everyone will draw their own conclusions. Some will think she is a Hollywood wanna-be, others that she is a snob, and others still that she is a book worm. Well, as much as she would love to be what you expect, she isn't. Find her around teachers and she is an obedient, respectful, mousy, passive, bookworm. She does as she is told, and excels at whatever they ask of her. Meet her away from the schools or teachers though and you find a different girl. When not under the watchful eye of the academy's rigorous teachers, she is hot-tempered, drama loving, erratic, funny, wild, and trouble causing. But in both cases the traits she carries with her are that she is intelligent and sly.
She loves to cause drama, trouble, chaos, whatever you like to call it. But she never forgets to be careful with it. Few have been the times she got caught, and even fewer when she got punished. To the teachers she is an angel, sweet and smart. To her friends she is a dare-devil, always willing to push the limits. Take at least half of the cases of drama at the school, in some way they are linked to her. She knows just how to stir up dust. Well, if you know her well you can trace it to her, if not, she is the absolute last person you would expect to be doing the evil.
Through all this though, she is not a demonic girl. She likes to stir up trouble, but that doesn't mean she is mean to everyone. She cares about her friends deeply, and is loyal to them. It's just the people foolish enough to piss her off that she goes after. So, for your sake, try to meet her when a teacher is looking over your shoulder.
'You Are My Heroine;
Looks Like: Demi Lovato
Appearance: She is a bit short for her age, but in her temper, man can she make up for her size! She has a kind of pale, olive skin tone. And deep brown eyes that fleck with gold every now and again. Her hair is brown and moderately long. Her figure is fairly slim, and a bit athletic. She isn't one of those obsessive, total pear shaped, preps. But she isn't one of those totally flat, no figure, athletes. She is somewhere in between, and it is a nice middle ground.
Clothing Style: Her style is a lot like her figure, somewhere in between. She isn't a total tom-boy, though she does stick mostly to jeans. She likes to have at least a little bit of girlish flair. But she isn't a total girl either, she likes to be able to do things in her clothes, not just strut about like a peacock. She wears things that are comfortable, but trendy. Always fun. She never likes to seem boring, ever.
'The Hours That Were Left Behind;
Family:
Barbara McLannly, 36, Mother [deceased]
Dave McLannly, 37, Father [deceased]
Kate McLannly, 20, Sister
Maria Gray, 5, Cousin
Anna Gray, 32, Aunt
History:Layla was always the middle child, never the older one who got all the privileges. Or the youngest one who was the little princess who got everything her heart desired. Nope, she was right in the middle. This didn't bother her too much, her life was pretty good. She had friends, brains, and not much trouble at home. For awhile. The older her sister got the more trouble the family had, and once their newest was born, Maria, that only got ten times worse.
Kate was a brilliant girl, popular and smart. She attended Lording's, just as Layla is now. But she always wanted more, she was never content with who she was. Eventually that got to the point she tried using others to feel good about herself. She couldn't tell herself she was okay, so she needed a boy to do it for her. She would stay out later and later with boys, going out more and more frequently. Sometimes it felt like she was never at home at all. Because she was out so much she got into a lot of fights with her parents. She had always been their pride and joy, their star child, their prodigy. They had loved to show her off to everyone and anyone they met, and now they couldn't. Now her grades were slipping and she didn't seem quite herself, this was not okay to them. When she got home, late at night, they would try to talk to her. She would get defensive and within minutes they would be screaming at the top of their lungs, and all that fighting sailed right up through the ceiling and into Layla's bedroom.
All of the sudden her amazing big sister, wasn't invincible. She could get in trouble. She could mess up. And as Layla found out when Kate went to her room after all the screaming, her perfect big sister could also cry. Layla couldn't help her though, Kate acted like she didn't exist. She wouldn't even talk to her little sister! So Layla had to sit by every day and watch her sister fall apart. She would sit by her bed every night and wish upon the first star that she saw that everything would get better, Kate would be happy and popular again, and her parents would stop being mad all the time. But it only got worse.
Eventually her parents started fighting with each other instead of Kate, fighting about who was doing the worse job, and what was ruining their children. Layla heard this and was horrified by it. They were only thinking of Kate when they mentioned how horrible their children were, but poor Layla thought they meant her. That she wasn't good enough. For her sister, or for her parents. She threw herself into everything she could, and worked extra hard, but she couldn't seem to make them happy. They only got more angry with each other, and sooner or later started ignoring her all together. Until one night.
It was in the middle of summer, and everything was just as horrid as it had always been. Layla still wished it would get better, but it seemed to only get worse. That night they were all going out to dinner, why together she had no clue. It seemed like they never did anything together. That night everything changed. Her parents were too angry to notice what was going on, and they didn't pay attention when a car was coming right at them. The two cars collided head on, and both her parents were killed. Her and Kate though, both survived with nothing but a few bruises and a broken bone or two. But they both had to see their parents dead, and covered in blood. That was what changed everything between them.
Kate was so upset she finally turned to her little sister, finally acknowledged she was there. When they were mourning their parents they became close for the first time in years, they talked to each other and shared things with each other. And Kate stopped going out with guys to make herself feel okay. She was finally learning to be okay with herself, by helping her aunt. When their parents died they moved in with their aunt for awhile, she had just recently adopted a baby girl named Maria. Kate absolutely loved Maria, and now spends any time she can with the sweet little girl. She found her place, and she found someone who can love her no matter what, and Kate is much the better for that. Layla though is still very shaky from what her parents said, how long they ignored her, and when she saw them dead. She has gotten much better with the help of Kate, Anna, and Maria, but she still has a long way to go. And now she is the one who feels like she needs to impress people, like she needs to be good enough.

Looking over the sand, looking over the surf, looking into her heart. She had only been here a few days and already she was longing for something like what she knew. Nothing was the same here, nor would it ever be. Her everyone seemed to be an actress or a model, a musician or a celebrity. Everyone was special, save for her. And when she looked around, everyone seemed to have a place. All the people here knew why there were here, what they would do, who they would hang out with. It was like they had their whole life already planned, and she had no clue how to do that. She sighed heavily and though about all it looked like she was expected to be, and all she would have to do to fit in with this crazy place and these amazing people.
A few dozen steps took her from the cold pavement of the parking lot, down to the soft sand of the beach. The sand here was pure and white, gorgeous in every sense of the word. She looked over her shoulder - maybe just because she did not want to be disturbed and maybe because she hoped someone would be there - and then looked back to the surf. Light was just beginning to fill the sky, only this light was not the golden haven that accompanied most days here. This light was cold and gray, soft and fragile. This was what it was like so early in the morning.
She sat down on the soft sand, wriggling her bare feet under a small layer of cool sand. The waves crashed loudly onto the empty shore, and the birds chirped with a new tone completely as they knew light was coming. Soon she knew the sky would be ablaze with color, and a bit after that this beach would be flooded with people. She peered up at the empty sky, a gray but cloudless blue, and sighed again. She felt so hollow here. No one knew her, and she knew no one.
Water came up and lapped gently at her bare feet, tickling them with a sharp coldness. The salty wind blew in her face and whipped her hair about. Sitting all alone on an empty shore, she really hoped this was not a sign of how the rest of summer would go. After all, she had come here to meet new people and come to know different things. The same fate that brought her here, she hoped was not cruel enough to make her suffer her way through the time she had chosen to spend here. But then again, only time would tell. Just as time would tell when she had to leave the beach, when the sky was ablaze with color, and when if ever she would really get to know someone.
