Roanoke, Virginia is a real place situated between the Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountains, in the Roanoke Valley. It started out as a small town known as "Big Lick" because of its salt licks. Then came the trains, and Roanoke was formed, being a central part of Norfolk and Southern Railways.
The known landmark of the area is the Roanoke Star. It started out being white, built upon the top of Mill Mountain. It had mixed feelings from the citizens, but it continued to stand. After the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States of America, the colors were soon changed to be red, white, and blue. Those colors disappeared after a while, but then became permanent. So far, the colors haven't changed.
Roanoke has various nicknames. Star City is the most known nickname of the city, due to the Roanoke Star. Magic City and Capital of the Blue Ridge are two other nicknames, along with its original name, Big Lick.
The schools from this site are completely make-believe, but every single other place was a real place. Many of them still are, however, Victory Stadium has been knocked down, and is going to be home to an amphitheater. The rivalry between the two schools is not fake, however. Patrick Henry High School and William Fleming High School both used Victory Stadium for their home football stadium, and the rivalry was thick. So thick that, when the two teams played against each other, the police were involved, and necessary to keep from fights from starting.
Also, the Art Museum mentioned in Center in the Square is currently going to be an African Art Museum, as the Art Museum of Western Virginia is moving to a better located and better suited place.
Lucy Madison High is somewhat based from a middle school by a similar name, and the picture in the plot is the middle school, called Lucy Addison. Lording's Academy does not have a base, but the picture used for it is the Jefferson Center. I have pictures of various places that are used here.

Located across from Center in the Square is the Market Building. It is two floors and has wi-fi access. It does have different food available. For more information on what is here, PM me.
